Women's Gymnastics Takes Second at Bridgeport Quad Meet

The West Chester University women's gymnastics team was back in action on Saturday night at a quad meet against a pair of Gymnastics East Conference foes Bridgeport and Cornell and non-league foe Centenary. West Chester registered a team score of 191.050, which was good enough for second, topping Bridgeport (190.825) and Centenary (185.725), while Cornell took first with a team score of 191.800.

West Chester started off its night on beam with a pair of 9.700's from Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.) and Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.), which helped the duo finish in a tie for second. Cascadden's 9.700 was a new season-high EmmaGrace Kelly (Bradenton, Fl.) and Tatum McGuinn (Glen Mills, Pa.) finished in a tie for fifth on the beam with a pair of 9.650's. McGuinn's 9.650 came in her collegiate debut in this event.

Kelly continued her outstanding day with a victory on the floor with a season and career-high score of 9.825, while Catherine Keener (Holly Springs, N.C.), Cascadden, and McFarland finished in a tie for fifth with scores of 9.750. Kelly's score also served as a new season-high for the Golden Rams. McFarland and Keener both matched their season highs in this event.  Lydia Stoner (Palmyra, Pa.) made her collegiate lineup debut with a score of 9.725, which was good enough to finish in a tie for ninth.

Rylee Harada (Runnemede, N.J.) led the way for West Chester on the vault with a 9.575, which was good enough for ninth, while Corinne Gruber (Barto, Pa.) and Bridget Sullivan (Watertown, Ma.) finished in a tie for 10th with a score of 9.525, which is a new season-high for her as well.

In the final rotation, West Chester was led by Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) who finished fourth with a 9.625, while Melina Ringas (Glen Allen, Va.) turned in a 9.575 to finish in a tie for seventh. Harada was the third and final Golden Ram in the top-10 as she finished ninth with a 9.475.
