WEST CHESTER, Pa.- After competing at the Widner Winter Evenings Invite, the West Chester University men's track and field team is finishing its preparations for its next meet as the team will compete as a split squad at the Bucknell Multi and the Alvernia Plex Shootout on Friday and Saturday.
West Chester will start the weekend at Bucknell on Friday night in Lewisburg inside Gerhard Fieldhouse, beginning at 5:00 p.m., and racing throughout Saturday.
Another squad will compete at the Alvernia Plex Shootout at the Flynn Plex Athletic Center in Reading, PA., starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Last Time Out
Amarre Mayo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) finished eighth and ran a season-best in the 200 with a time of 22.46 seconds, while
David Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) was 15
th in the 400 in 51.10 seconds.
In the 800,
Billy Zane (Springfield, Pa./Springfield DELCO) took 25
th with a time of 204.07.
West Chester took third in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:24.57.
Devin Carlson-Swank (Elliotsburg, Pa.) took fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 13 feet 11 ¼ inches (4.25m).
Derrick Lukomski-Pizzo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) finished fifth in both the shot put and weight throw with PSAC Qualifying marks of 45-8 ¾ (14.85m) and 49-10 (15.19m). His mark in the weight throw served as a new personal best, while
Ben Thornton (Lincoln University, Pa./Salesianum) turned in a season-best in the weight throw with a mark of 44-4 ¾ (13.53m).
