BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) finished third in 22 minutes and 27 seconds to help lead the West Chester University women's cross country team to a third-place team finish in the Green Division race at the Paul Short Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Tapia was one of two Golden Rams in the top 10 on Friday afternoon as
Jessalyn Welsh (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) took eighth in 22:50, while
Taylor Atkinson (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) and
Megan Werner (Bristol, Pa./Conwell Egan) were 26
th and 29
th in 23:54.3 and 24:00.2, respectively.
Rylee McEvoy (Edison, N.J./Edison) crossed the line in 25:53.3 to finish 119
th, while
Grace O'Brien (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium Charter) rounded out the West Chester contingent in 26:36.
West Chester will be back in action next Saturday in Unionville for the Golden Ram Invitational before heading to Gettysburg the following weekend for the final meet of the regular season, the Aubrey Shenk Invitational.
