East Stroudsburg’s Second Half Does In West Chester, 45-14

Box Score WEST CHESTER, PA – East Stroudsburg scored 35 second-half points to erase a 10-point deficit at half to spoil Homecoming for a season-high crowd of over 6,000 fans at Tomlinson-Fillippo Field at Farrell Stadium on a sun-splashed Saturday afternoon.
 
West Chester (3-2, 1-1) dropped its first conference tilt of the season while East Stroudsburg (4-1, 2-0) remained unbeaten to keep pace atop the Eastern Division standings.
 
The visiting Warriors ran up 332 of its' 511 total yards of offense in the second half while outscoring the Golden Rams by a 35-0 margin.
 
West Chester committed four turnovers and put the ball on the ground five times in all, losing three of them, as the home team's first three possessions of the game ended in turnovers – two fumbles and an interception.
 
The second quarter seemed to breathe some air into the Golden Rams as senior quarterback, Cooper Jordan (Downingtown, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) busted off a 52-yard touchdown run and then hit Matthew Iuvara (Haddon Heights, N.J./Haddon Heights) on a 15-yard TD pass that put the home team in front 14-7. However, that was all the Warriors were willing to yield as the Golden Rams' first two possessions of the second half ended on downs and the next three ended with punts. Iuvara finished the day with five catches on six targets for 39 yards and the TD.
 
East Stroudsburg ran for 267 yards on the ground. Running back, Ajani Walker led all rushers with 129 yards and two touchdowns. Back-up quarterback, Harrison Susi amassed 72 yards rushing with one score. Meanwhile, ESU wide receiver, Jaylen Andrews caught five passes for 112 yards and one TD.
 
West Chester middle linebacker, Connor Noble (Chester Springs, Pa./Downingtown East) led all tacklers in the game with 16 stops.
 
West Chester will travel to Shepherd next Saturday for another PSAC East showdown with the Rams in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
