Women's Volleyball Falls to Lock Haven 3-0 in Regular Season Finale

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The West Chester University women's volleyball team (19-9, 7-7) wrapped up its regular season on Saturday night with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-12) setback at Lock Haven (10-18, 6-8). West Chester's season will continue next week as the Golden Rams return to the PSAC Tournament for the first time since 2022 with a trip to the top-seed in the PSAC West, Gannon, on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

West Chester trailed early in the first set as Lock Haven jumped out to a 6-2 lead, and despite a valiant mid-set comeback effort, which saw West Chester pull back to within three (14-11), Lock Haven captured the first set by a 25-18 final.

Lock Haven got out to a 4-0 lead to open the second before West Chester battled back and took a 15-13 lead after a 3-1 run, which was capped off by a Zoe Haines (York, Pa./York Suburban) kill. Lock Haven retook the lead moments later, but West Chester was very much in the set late, trailing 22-21 late after a kill by CeCe Isenberg (Berwick, Pa./Berwick). Lock Haven closed the set on a 3-0 run to capture it by a 25-22 final and take a 2-0 lead in the match.

In the third set, Lock Haven got out to an early lead and never looked back, capturing the set by a 25-12 final to win the match 3-0 over the visiting Golden Rams.

West Chester hit just .124 (33-20-105) with its best effort in the night coming in the second set when the Golden Rams hit .250 (16-6-40), but it was not enough to even the match at 1-1.

Led by 13 kills from Lola Coulter, Lock Haven hit .303 (43-13-99) in the victory, including a .429 (14-2-28) effort in the third-set triumph to close out the match.

Haines led West Chester in kills with nine, while Isenberg added six of her own. Lacie Brown (Cochranville, Pa./Avon Grove) led West Chester in assists (24) and blocks (three), while Elianna Freeman (Houston, Texas/Jersey Village) led the team in aces with two. Lexy Caltabiano (Woolwich Twp., N.J./GCIT) tied with Brown to lead West Chester in digs with six each.

For Lock Haven, Gracelyn Wolzen led the team in aces with three, while Madelyn Wagner posted a team-best 23 assists in the victory. Olivia Taylor led the team in digs with 19, while Payton Stanton posted four blocks in the three-set triumph.

West Chester will now prepare for the PSAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday night at Gannon beginning at 7 p.m.
