WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's track and field squad was back in action this weekend in split-squad action, competing at both the Bucknell Bison Open & Multi and the Alvernia Plex Shootout on Saturday.
Bison Open/Multi
Josh Farrell (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) took sixth in the 200 with a time of 22.53 seconds, while
Billy Zane (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) took sixth in the 800 in a season-best time of 1:58.80. Farrell's time served as a PSAC Qualifying time.
Jason Vogt (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) took eighth in the mile in a time of 4:26.32.
Chase Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa.) took 13
th in the heptathlon with a score of 3,796 points, including top-10 finishes in the 60m (sixth-7.36), 60m hurdles (ninth-9.28), and the 1000 (9
th-3:08.42).
West Chester also took 11
th in the 4x400 relay in a time of 3:39.13 before finishing ninth in the DMR in 10:55.58.
PLEX Shootout
At Alvernia,
Damian Simpson (Easton, Pa./Wilson) took first in the 60m dash in 6.99 seconds, while
Alijah Serrano (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser) took third in a personal-best time of 7.11 seconds.
Daniel Schikel (Prospect Park, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) also picked up a victory in the 60m hurdles in 8.31 seconds, which served as a new personal best and PSAC Qualifying time.
Jason Shumaker (Norristown, Pa./Methacton) took eighth in the mile in 4:40.17, while
Luke Pikulski (Scranton, Pa./Scranton) was 10
th in this event in 4:41.46.
Dennis Kemether (Chesapeake City, Md./Bohemia Manor) took seventh in the long jump with a mark of 19-4 ¾ (5.91m).
Devin Carlson-Swank (Elliotsburg, Pa./Connections Charter) finished fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 13-10 (4.22m), while
Samuel Jenkins (Malvern, Pa./Conestoga) took sixth with a mark of 13-4 ¼ (4.07m).
Derrick Lukomski Pizzo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) won the shot put with a PSAC Qualifying mark of 48-7 ¼ (14.81m), while also finishing fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 47-9 ¼ (14.56m).
West Chester also took the top two spots in the DMR in times of 11:12.90 and 11:12.97, respectively.
