PHILADELPHIA- The West Chester University men's track and field squad was back in action this weekend at the Widener Indoor Classic. Action began on Friday with throws events and concluded on Saturday evening with the remainder of the slate.
Nicholas Tran (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley) set new PRs in both the 60 and 200 with times of 7.08 and 22.72, respectively.
David Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) clocked a season-best time of 50.48 seconds to take 16
th in the 400, while
Billy Zane (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) set a PR in the 800 with a 10
th-place finish in 1:57.23.
Josh Miller (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) took fourth in the mile with a PR and PSAC Qualifying time of 4:17.60, while
Jason Vogt (Southampton, Pa./William Tennent) was 21
st in the 5k in 15:45.24. Miller also hit a new PR and PSAC time in the 3k, crossing the line in 8:45.75.
West Chester took seventh in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:26.53.
Chase Parkinson (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) finished sixth in the long jump with a mark of 22 feet 1 ¾ inches (6.75m), while also finishing fifth in the triple jump with a PSAC Qualifying mark of 45-3 (13.79m).
Derrick Lukomski Pizzo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) turned in a top-10 finish in the shot put with a PSAC mark of 47-9 ¼ (14.56m).
Sammy Jenkins (Malvern, Pa./Conestoga) took 13
th in the pole vault with a mark of 13-11 ¼ (4.25m).
