HAVERFORD, Pa.- The West Chester University men's track and field squad was back in action on Saturday at the Haverford Keogh Invitational in its final tune-up ahead of the PSAC Championships next weekend at Lehigh University.
Ronald Leraris (Glen Mills, Pa./Garnet Valley) took third in the 60-meter dash in 7.17 seconds, while
Nicholas Tran (Lancaster, Pa./Conestoga Valley), Alijah Serrano (Womelsdorf, Pa./Conrad Weiser), and Dennis Kemether (Chesapeake City, Md./Bohemia Manor) were close behind in fourth, sixth, and seventh in 7.17, 719, and 7.24 seconds.
Chase Hildreband (Chalfont, Pa.) took second in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.06 seconds.
Serrano also captured the 200 in 22.98 seconds, while
Damian Simpson (Easton, Pa./Wilson), and
David Burnshaw (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) were second and fifth in 23.06 and 23.52 seconds. Leraris took seventh in 23.7 seconds.
Burnshaw won the 400 in 51.98 seconds, while
Matt Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall) took fifth in the 800 in 2:01.53.
Sean Fisher (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) took third in the mile in 4:36.85, while
Matt Landis (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) was fourth in the 3K in 9:09.94, followed by
Louis Edgcumbe (West Chester, Pa./Shanahan) in sixth in 9:27.13.
West Chester also took fourth in the 4x400 in a time of 3:52.47.
Derrick Johnson (Langhorne, Pa./Conwell-Egan) won the high jump with a mark of 5 feet 10 ¾ inches (1.80 meters), while
Derrick Lukomski Pizzo (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) took second in the shot put and third in the weight throw with PSAC Qualifying marks of 48-0 ¾ (14.65m) and 49-5 ¾ (15.08m), respectively.
West Chester will be back in action next weekend at the PSAC Indoor Championships at Lehigh on March 1 and 2.
