COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.- The West Chester University women's gymnastics team returned to action on Saturday afternoon at Ursinus for a quad-meet against the Golden Bears, Bridgeport, and William & Mary. West Chester finished third with a 190.175, beating out host Ursinus who finished with a 189.575, while Bridgeport took second with a 192.050 and William & Mary took first with a 192.075.
West Chester started its day on beam with a 48.450, led by a season-best 9.825 from
Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.), a season-high matching 9.800 by
Natalie Marshall (Bolton, Ma.), and a 9.775 from
Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.). McFarland, Marshall, and Cascadden swept the top three spots in this event as McFarland started the afternoon with a victory, with Marshall in second, and Cascadden in a tie for third.
West Chester scored a 47.825 on the floor, led by a 9.700 from McFarland and a 9.600 by
Bridget Sullivan (Watertown, Ma.). McFarland finished in a tie for fourth to lead West Chester in this event.
On its third rotation of the day, the vault, West Chester, scored a 47.925. Keane led West Chester in this event with a 9.625 as she finished in a tie for 12th, while Sullivan registered a 9.600.
Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) and
Rylee Harada (Runnemede, N.J.) each recorded a 9.575.
Holding a slim 144.200-143.425 lead over William & Mary for first heading into the final rotation, West Chester scored a 45.975 on the bars to finish a narrow third with a 190.175.
Melina Ringas (Glen Allen, Va.) led West Chester in this event with a 9.575 to finish third individually.
