Women's Track and Field Set for Busy Weekend of Competition

Golden Rams Kick Weekend off Friday Night at Ocean Breeze

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field program is finishing its preparations and packing its bags for a busy weekend of competition, which will see the team spread out across three meets over the course of Friday and Saturday. West Chester will begin its weekend with a group of student-athletes making the trip back to Ocean Breeze for the Fast Track Invitational. The rest of the team will compete on Saturday with much of the squad competing at Ursinus in the Frank Colden Invitational, while other members will compete in Boston for the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invitational.

Kristina Tapia (Ridley Park, Pa./Ridley) won the mile with a PSAC Qualifying time of 5 minutes and 17.60 seconds.

West Chester took seventh in the 4x400 relay with a time of 4:21.77 before also finishing seventh in the DMR with a time of 12:48.15

Amanda Marquis (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette) took 12th in the pentathlon with a score of 2,162 points with her top finish being a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 16-5 ¼ (5.01m).

PLEX Shootout

Jade Salmon (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chilli) took third in the high jump with a mark of 4 feet 11 ¾ inches (1.52m), while Hannah LaFave (Spring Brook Township, Pa./North Pocono) took second in the pole vault with a personal-best mark of 10-4 (3.15m).

Zhayria Washington (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) took second in the weight throw with a mark of 44-4 (13.51m), while also finishing seventh in the shot put with a mark of 35-1 ¼ (10.7m).

Adrianna Bryant (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) took sixth in the weight throw with a mark of 42-0 (12.8m).

Grace O'Brien (Coatesville, Pa./Collegium) took 13th in the mile with a time of 6:05.24.

Up Next

West Chester will be back in action next weekend for another two-day meet at the Widener Class on February 14 and 15.
