WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's gymnastics team is finishing its preparations for its final meet of the regular season on Friday morning in Gym Six of the Sturzebecker Health Science Center as Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) foe Cornell visits West Chester for an 11 a.m. start.

West Chester was in action twice last weekend, beginning its busy weekend vs Alaska Anchorage at home on Friday night on what was Senior Night before traveling with Alaska for a tri-meet on Sunday at Towson. At Towson, West Chester finished third as a team but had a number of top-10 individual event finishes, including a second-place finish by
EmmaGrace Kelly (Bradenton, Fl.) on beam with a 9.775, while
Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.) took fourth with a 9.750.
Cat Keener (Holly Springs, N.C.) finished eighth on the floor with a 9.750 to finish eighth, while
Rylee Harada (Runnemede, N.J.) took fifth on vault with a 9.625.
Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) also turned in a pair of top-10 finishes in her return to her home state, finishing 10
th on the floor with a 9.725, while taking seventh on vault with a 9.600.
Melina Ringas (Glen Allen, Va.) led West Chester on bars with a season-high score of 9.700 to finish 11
th, while reigning USAG Champion
Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) was close behind in 12
th with a 9.650.
Final Push
Friday is the Golden Rams' final meet of the 2025 regular season and their last tune-up ahead of the Gymnastics East Conference Championships in Philadelphia on March 22.
Home Sweet Home
West Chester will compete at home for the second in two weeks but just the fourth time this season, as the Golden Rams were road warriors for much of the 2025 season. EmmaGrace Kelly (Bradenton, Fl.) was recognized by the Gymnastics East Conference for the second time this season earlier this week as she was named co-newcomer of the week in recognition of great performances on the Golden Rams' second double meet weekend of the season. West Chester has earned four weekly awards from the GEC this season as McFarland and Cascadden copped Specialist of the Week honors, while Kelly has been a two-time Newcomer of the Week.
Making a Name Among the Giants
West Chester University, which competes at the NCAA Division II level in all other school sports, has held its own against the mostly Division I institutions that make up the Gymnastics East Conference. The Golden Rams are a combined 18-6 in head-to-head competition against GEC schools in the regular season, and West Chester has taken third place in two of the first three GEC Championships (2022, 2023).
Scouting Cornell
Cornell placed third at the Rutgers Quad with a score of 193.075. Sydney Beers placed third in the all-around with a score of 37.775 and won the vault with a season-high 9.850. Avery Byun returned to the Big Red lineup and opened the meet with a 9.750 to tie for sixth on the beam. Dahlia Jhaveri tied for 11th with her season-high 9.750 on the bars. The high-flying bars squad hit their season-high mark of 48.200 for the second consecutive week. Addy Rothstein shined on the floor for Cornell with a 9.800 to tie for sixth. Cami Whitaker and Beers tied for 11th with a 9.775.
What's Next
West Chester and Cornell will now shift their focus to the Gymnastics East Conference Championships hosted by Penn in Philadelphia on March 22. Entering this week, West Chester has an NQS of 191.100, which is seventh-best in the Gymnastics East Conference, while Cornell is fourth with a 193.170. The top four teams will compete in session two at 6 p.m., while teams ranked fifth through eighth will compete in the first session at noon.
