Women's Gymnastics Sets New Season-High on Floor Against Cornell in Regular Season Finale

WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
The West Chester University women's gymnastics team returned home on Friday morning for its fourth and final home meet of the year as the Golden Rams wrapped up their regular season with a Friday morning meet against Gymnastics East Conference foe Cornell. West Chester won three of four events and set a new season-high on floor with multiple career-best performances but fell to Cornell by a 192.175-191.675 final.

Rylee Harada (Runnemede, N.J.) took fifth on vault with a 9.625, while Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) finished seventh with a 9.525 as West Chester scored a 47.450.

Melina Ringas (Glen Allen, Va.) tied for first on bars with a 9.775, which served as a new career high, while Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) took sixth with a 9.675. Tatum McGuinn (Glen Mills, Pa.) also set a new career high on bars with a 9.550 as she finished seventh to help West Chester score a 46.475.

McFarland won the beam with a 9.800, while the trio of Macarthy Keane (Trumbull, Ct.), McGuinn, and Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.) finished in a tie for fourth with 9.700s. West Chester scored a 48.575 on this event.

West Chester finished its final home meet of the year with a 49.175 on the floor, which was a season-best team score, led by a career-best 9.900 from McFarland to win the event along with a pair of 9.875s from Cascadden and Bridget Sullivan (Watertown, Ma.), to finish in a tie for second. Cascadden's 9.875 was a new season-high, while Sullivan's score also set a new career high.

Catherine Keener (Holly Springs, N.C.) also set a new career-high with a 9.825 to finish sixth. This score also goes as the second highest floor score in program history, matching is 49.175 vs William & Mary, Temple, and LIU last March.

West Chester will return to action on Saturday, March 22 at the Gymnastics East Conference Championships in Philadelphia as the University of Pennsylvania plays host. The first session, featuring teams that finished fifth through eighth in the GEC standings will be at 12 p.m. while the evening session with the top four teams competing at 6 p.m.
