Delaney Tingle (Charlotte, N.C./Palm Desert) earned PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors.
Tingle had a tremendous week for West Chester last week as she went a perfect 3-0 in first singles, including a win over Division I Niagara while also going 2-1 at first doubles. Tingle swept her singles and doubles matches against Winona State and Washington College (Md.) on Monday and Wednesday to help the Golden Rams to a pair of victories in those matches. On Monday vs Winona State, Tingle won her doubles match 6-3 before taking singles in straight sets (6-2, 6-2) as part of a 5-1 victory for the Golden Rams. On Wednesday, Tingle won doubles by a 6-3 final once again before taking her singles match by a 6-3, 6-3 final. On Thursday against Division I foe Niagara, Tingle battled her way to a three-set victory, capturing the first set by a 7-6 final before dropping the second 6-3 and winning the third set 1-0 (10-8) for the lone point of the night for the Golden Rams.
West Chester will be back in action on Thursday at home against Bryn Mawr College before hosting Millersville on Saturday for its first PSAC East match of the season.
