WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's tennis team (4-3) is set to return to the court this week for two matches in two days against Wilmington (10-2) and Goldey Beacom (5-6) on Thursday and Friday afternoons in West Chester at 2 p.m. before opening league play next Tuesday at Millersville at 3 p.m.

West Chester returns north from a 1-3 trip to Florida, which included a 4-3 win over Winona State in between the Golden Rams first losses of 2025-26 to Eckerd (6-1), California (Pa. (4-3), and Slippery Rock (7-0) during its Spring Break trip south.
Welcome Home
West Chester opened its spring season in the Sunshine State against Eckerd on March 8 and will play its first home game of 2026 on Thursday against Wilmington. The match was originally scheduled for Wednesday afternoon but was postponed to Thursday due to cold temperatures below the NCAA minimum requirement.

Thursday looks to be the warmest day of the week to date, with highs in the upper 40s under mostly cloudy skies with wind speeds below 10 miles per hour. The week is expected to warm up through the weekend, with a high of 71 forecast for Sunday.
Scouting Wilmington
Wilmington enters play 10-2 on the year after a 4-2 win over Jefferson in the CACC Finals back on October 19, which was also the last time the Wildcats were on the court. Wilmington was to open its spring campaign on Monday in our nation's capital against the University of the District of Columbia but that match was postponed due to rain. Molly Carlberg is a team-best 10-1 in singles play, while Gloria Barcaro is 8-2 followed by Ming-Fu Chen at 8-1. Siana McDonald is 7-3 in singles action and a team-best 10-2 in doubles action, while Elana Camacho is 7-3 in her doubles matches this season.
Scouting Goldey Beacom
Goldey Beacom enters its spring opener on Friday afternoon at 5-6 on the year after falling to Wilmington in the CACC Tournament on October 18 in its final match of the fall and most recent match. Prior to this loss to Wilmington, Goldey-Beacom was 4-1 in its last five, including 6-1, 5-2, and 7-0 wins, with the lone blemish during this stretch being a 6-1 loss at Wilmington in Mid-October.
Camilla Franzin and Jenna Frank lead the team in singles play at 6-1 and 6-4, while the doubles duo of Franzin and Lucia Corte is 6-1 at first doubles.
