PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- The West Chester University women's gymnastics team was back in action on Saturday afternoon at the 2025 edition of the Gymnastics East Conference Championships hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. Competing in the first session, West Chester finished seventh overall with a 192.275, which was the Golden Rams second highest score of the season.
At the conclusion of the meet,
EmmaGrace Kelly (Bradenton, Fl.) Co-Performance of the Year honors in recognition of an incredible rookie season competing on beam for the Golden Rams. Kelly shared this honor with Skye Kerico who was part of Gymnastics East Conference Champion, Penn.
West Chester started its Championship on the floor with a 48.500 team score, led by a 9.800 from All-GEC selection,
Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) and a 9.775 from
Cat Keener (Holly Springs, N.C.). Among competitors in the first session, McFarland's score was fifth best, while Keener's effort tied for sixth best. Combined with those competitors from the evening session, McFarland was tied for sixth in the field, although her score would have been the second-best score of the evening session on the floor.
Keener finished in a tie for 12th overall.
On vault, West Chester scored a 47.800, led by a 9.625 from
Rylee Harada (Runnemede, N.J.), which tied for 10
th best in the early session, while McFarland scored a 9.600 to finish 13
th.
The Golden Rams continued their Championship on bars with a 47.150 led by a 9.700 from
Melina Ringas (Glen Allen, Va.) and a 9.625 from
Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) to finish fourth and seventh among competitors in the afternoon session.
Karah Vargo (Fort Myers, Fl.) also set a new career-high with a 9.400. Ringas finished in a tie for 15th overall while Coleman was 24th.
West Chester concluded the meet with an outstanding performance on beam as the Golden Rams scored 48.825, which was the second-highest score of the season, trailing only the team's 48.850 on February 1 in its home opener alongside SUNY Cortland and SUNY Brockport.
Macarthy Keane (Trumbull, Ct.) and Kelly tied for first in the afternoon session in this event with career-best scores of 9.850. This effort also put Keane and Kelly in a tie for first in the conference as a whole, matching Manama Fofana and Kerico of Penn for a four-way tie for second while finishing just shy of Jordan Barrow's (Penn) 9.875, which earned her the Conference title.
Lydia Stoner (Palmyra, Pa.) also set a new career high in this event with a 9.725 to finish the afternoon session in a tie for sixth while
Natalie Marshall (Bolton, Ma.) tied for fourth in the afternoon session with her 9.750.
Following today's Championships, West Chester will wait, along with countless other teams around Collegiate Gymnastics, to learn if its season will continue either as a team or with individuals potentially qualifying for the NCAA Regional Championships on April 2-6 or the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships in Shreveport, Louisiana beginning on Friday, April 11.
