Women’s Lacrosse Climbs to Top Spot in IWLCA and USA Lacrosse Magazine Division II Poll

NORTHBOROUGH, Ma.
- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association released its latest Division II Coaches Poll on Monday morning and West Chester (9-0) rose to the top of the poll after going a perfect 2-0 last week with wins over Kutztown and Shepherd. West Chester also jumped into the top spot of the USA Lacrosse Magazine poll after its latest 2-0 week.

West Chester holds the top spot in the IWLCA rankings for the first time since the 2023 season when the team climbed to the top of the polls in late March and retained that spot for much of the remainder of the season.

West Chester concluded its season-long eight-game homestand with a thrilling 14-13 win over Kutztown as Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) scored the winner on a free position with under 30 seconds to play. The Golden Rams earned their first road win of the year on Saturday with a convincing 24-9 victory at Shepherd.

West Chester holds the top spot in the IWLCA rankings for the first time since the 2023 season when the team climbed to the top of the polls in late March and retained that spot for much of the remainder of the season.

Tampa slipped to second in the poll, followed by Lynn, Embry Riddle and Florida Southern to round out the top five. Maryville, Saint Leo, Pace, U Indy, and Adelphi completed the top-10. In the USA Lacrosse poll, Lynn, Embry Riddle, Tampa, and Florida Southern completed the top five.

West Chester remains one of four PSAC teams in the IWLCA Top-25 as East Stroudsburg is 11th, Kutztown is 13th, Seton Hill is 14th and Slippery Rock is 22nd.

The Golden Rams will continue East play this week as the team visits 11th-ranked ESU on Wednesday before hosting Bloomsburg on Saturday on what will also be Senior Day on Vonnie Gros Field.
