SHIPPENSBURG, PA
– West Chester University's women's lacrosse team travels to Shippensburg University Wednesday afternoon for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division showdown at Robb Sports Complex at 3 p.m.

West Chester (8-2, 4-1) is ranked 11th in the most recent IWLCA coaches' poll while Shippensburg (4-6, 1-4) is not ranked. The Golden Rams got back on the winning side of things last Saturday with a lopsided, 23-7, victory over Bloomsburg at Vonnie Gros Field.

The Purple & Gold bring a 46-game winning streak over the Raiders into Wednesday's contest. Shippensburg has not beaten West Chester since 1995. That game was played in Shippensburg, Pa., however. The Golden Rams are 50-1 all-time against the Raiders on the lacrosse pitch. In fact, West Chester has not allowed Shippensburg to reach double figures in goals scored since 2013 – a streak of 17 straight contests.

Senior Sydney Wasdick (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) has scored a team-high 13 goals against Shippensburg in six games during her college career. Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) has 11 goals while Kendall Fortune (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) has 10 goals in four games. Morgan Koons (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) has appeared in two games against Shippensburg and is 1-0 in her two seasons in college.

Wasdick and Fortune enter Wednesday's game leading the team in goals scored with 32 each. Edinger has 26 goals to her credit.

West Chester leads the PSAC in clearing percentage, successfully clearing the ball an average of 85.6 percent of the time. They also rank fourth in the conference and seventh in the nation in caused turnovers per game (13.4).

WEST CHESTER LAST TIME OUT …
Lila McMahon-Skates scored a career-high seven goals, and fellow attacker Kendall Fortune added five to lead 10th-ranked West Chester to a 23-7 victory over visiting Bloomsburg on a sunny, but very cold and windy afternoon at Vonnie Gros Field Saturday.

West Chester saw nine different players score a goal as it rebounded from a mid-week loss to East Stroudsburg in impressive fashion. Bloomsburg dropped its third straight conference tilt.

Madeline Edinger cored three goals and assisted on another while Avery Roberts scored twice and notched one assist for a four-point day. Marissa Herring also scored a pair of goals for the Golden Rams.

SHIPPENSBURG LAST TIME OUT …
The Shippensburg University lacrosse team dropped a heartbreaker on Saturday at Millersville, falling to the Marauders 10-9 in overtime in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup on a sunny but cool day at the Biemesderfer.

Shippensburg held Millersville mostly in check through the first three quarters. The Raiders led 5-1 at halftime and 8-3 with 15 minutes to go, keeping the Marauders scoreless for a 25:59 stretch of play that spanned the first through third quarters.

The hosts then reeled off four goals in the first six minutes of the fourth quarter to get within one and tied the game with 4:51 left in regulation. The six-goal fourth quarter ultimately resulted in overtime.

NEXT UP FOR WCU …
West Chester returns home on Saturday to welcome in Millersville at 1 p.m. It will be the second meeting of the season between the two Eastern Division rivals. The Golden Rams won the first encounter, 15-9, back on March 4 in Millersville, Pa.
