HAVERFORD, PA – West Chester University landed three players on the 2026 Philadelphia Area Sports Information Directors (PhillySIDA) Women's Lacrosse Academic All-Area team it was announced Tuesday afternoon.
PhillySIDA selected Ursinus College senior Sophia Curtis as the 2026 Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse Performer of the Year. The defender from Yardley, Pa., leads a talented group of 13 outstanding student-athletes from eight programs on the 2026 Academic All-Area Women's Lacrosse Team. The three representatives from West Chester tied Rowan for the most from one school.
All three Golden Rams are making their initial appearance on a PhillySIDA squad. Fortune, earns her second academic plaudit of the postseason as well.
Wasdick ranked fifth in the PSAC in goals per game (3.20) and listed second on the team in goals with 64 and third in points with a career-best 84. She ranked third in the PSAC in draw controls with 110, marking the second straight year she eclipsed 100 in a season. Her 260 career draw controls is sixth all-time at West Chester. She was twice named PSAC East offensive player of the week and even parlayed one of those awards into a national player of the week honor from
U.S. Lacrosse Magazine this spring. She completed her career with 177 goals and 211 points to go along with 103 ground balls.
Edinger finished the year with a career-high 41 goals and 60 points. She picked up 36 ground balls and 20 draw controls while causing 22 turnovers in the riding game. She was named a first-team All-PSAC East performer following the regular season. She graduates from West Chester University ninth on the school's career draw controls list with 157 while her 85 career games played is the most by a lacrosse player in school history.
Fortune, who was a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Academic All-Conference selection, collected yet another academic accolade. On the field, she led West Chester with 67 goals on the season and ranked second on the team in points with 92. Her 67 goals scored ranked fourth in the PSAC. Her 92 points were second on West Chester's team and fifth in the conference.
