NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Five Players were named All-Atlantic Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) it was announced Wednesday afternoon. Three first-team honorees and two second-team citations represented West Chester's representation on the region squad.
The IWLCA honored 128 student-athletes in Division II with a selection to one of the all-region teams for 2026. These student-athletes are now eligible to be named to a national IWLCA All-America team. The IWLCA will announce the Division II 2026 All-American teams on May 20.
West Chester (16-5) landed repeat pick,
Madeline Edinger (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) on that first team along with senior teammates
Sydney Wasdick (Pottsgrove, Pa./Pottsgrove) and
Lila McMahon-Skates (West Linn, Ore./West Linn).
Kendall Fortune (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) was a second-team selection for the second straight year. She was joined by freshman
Marissa Herring (Landenberg, Pa./Kennett Square).
Edinger, who was a first-team pick last spring, finished the year with a career-high 41 goals and 60 points. She picked up 36 ground balls and 20 draw controls while causing 22 turnovers in the riding game. She was named a first-team All-PSAC East performer following the regular season. She graduates from West Chester University ninth on the school's career draw controls list with 157 while her 85 career games played is the most by a lacrosse player in school history.
Wasdick, making earning her first all-region plaudit from the IWLCA, ranked fifth in the PSAC in goals per game (3.20) and listed second on the team in goals with 64 and third in points with a career-best 84. She ranked third in the PSAC in draw controls with 110, marking the second straight year she eclipsed 100 in a season. Her 260 career draw controls is sixth all-time at West Chester. She was twice named PSAC East offensive player of the week and even parlayed one of those awards into a national player of the week honor from
U.S. Lacrosse Magazine this spring. She completed her career with 177 goals and 211 points to go along with 103 ground balls.
McMahon-Skates was West Chester's third honoree on the first team. It is her first postseason national award in her four-year career. She was also named first team All-PSAC East at the end of the regular season. Skates finished the year with a team-best 110 points, which ranked second in the conference, She was one of only two players in the league to reach triple digits in points this season. Her 52 assists ranked second in the PSAC. She scored 118 goals and assisted on 100 others for a total of 218 points in her four years.
Fortune, who was a second-team All-Atlantic Region pick last spring, repeated that honor again this year. She led West Chester with 67 goals on the season and ranked second on the team in points with 92. Her 67 goals scored ranked fourth in the PSAC. Her 92 points were second on West Chester's team and fifth in the conference.
Herring, the PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Year, raked in her second postseason award. She placed third on the Golden Rams in goals scored with 63. She posted 75 points in her first college campaign and tied for fifth on the team in ground balls with 31. Herring's 63 goals scored is the second-highest total for a freshman in school history and second only to
Keri Barnett's school record 78 goals her first year in 2022.
