WEST CHESTER, Pa.- Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) celebrated her senior day with event victories on the beam and floor with 9.800's and West Chester also won the vault thanks to a 9.675 from
Rylee Harada (Runnemede, N.J.) but it was not enough for the Golden Rams to pull off the Senior Day victory vs Alaska-Anchorage, falling to the Seawolves by a 192.250-190.575 final on Friday evening.
Following Friday night's meet, West Chester honored its senior class, which included McFarland,
Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.), Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.), Bridget Sullivan (Watertown, Ma.), Caitlyn Allen (Forest Hill, Md.), Kristina Rodriguez (Cincinatti, Oh.), Natalie Marshall (Bolton, Ma.), and Shannon Caroll (Kingston, N.H.).
Harada won the vault with a 9.675, while
Karah Vargo (Fort Myers, Fl.) and
Corinne Gruber (Barto, Pa.) tied for sixth with 9.500s. Vargo's 9.500 matched her career high and helped West Chester open the meet with a team score of 47.575.
Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.) took fourth on the bars with a 9.625, while Vargo was seventh with a 9.300 as the Golden Rams scored a 45.700 to move their team score of 93.275 through two events.
Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) won the beam with a 9.800, while
EmmaGrace Kelly (Bradenton, Fl.) and
Macarthy Keane (Trumbull, Ct.) tied for second with 9.750's. West Chester scored a 48.525 on the beam led by three members of the lineup with scores north of 9.700/
On floor, McFarland and Kelly tied for first with 9.800s, while
Cat Keener (Holly Springs, N.C.) and
Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.) tied for fourth with 9.750s. Keener's 9.750 matched her career high. These efforts helped West Chester finish the meet off with a 48.775 and a score of 190.575 overall.
