WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's tennis team is preparing to face Slippery Rock at Noon on Sunday as the Golden Rams return home at long last after a five-match road trip, which began following a March 27 clash against Salem.

The West Chester University women's tennis team was back in action on Wednesday afternoon at the University of the District of Columbia in a non-league test. West Chester battled throughout the afternoon and prevailed by a 4-3 final to grab important momentum entering the final weeks of the 2024-25 regular season.

Felicia Manful won their matches by 6-4 finals, while
Ellie Perrin and
Rachel Haupt won their match by default. West Chester got wins at third, fifth, and sixth singles as Cave won her match 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 while Manful was victorious 7-5, 6-4 along with Haupt who won by default to halt the Golden Rams seven-match losing streak.
Schedule Shakeup
Due to rain on Friday and Saturday, West Chester was forced to postpone its men's tennis match vs Edinboro to Sunday morning and cancel the women's match vs Edinboro, originally scheduled for Saturday afternoon. West Chester women's tennis will still host Slippery Rock on Sunday at 12 P.M.

Sunday looks to be a nicer day for tennis as the Golden Rams will play host to the Fighting Scots under sunny skies with temperatures in the mid-50s.
Scouting ROCK
Slippery Rock enters play at 7-8 on the year following a Senior Day victory over Seton Hill on Wednesday by a 7-0 final, which improved the Rock to 4-2 in its last six matches. The Rock is in action this afternoon at Lock Haven at 2:30 before making the trip down 476 to take on the Golden Rams on Sunday afternoon.
Amaia Balaguer Brau is 19-8 in singles play, including a 10-5 record at first singles in dual matches, while Alissia Kivi is 16-7, including a record of 9-3 at second singles in dual matches. Kivi and Nicole Templeton are a tremendous duo at first doubles, entering play at 20-6 on the year, while Brau and Tina Slovak are 11-3 in second doubles action.

West Chester will return to the road on April 16 to visit Frostburg State, beginning at 2 p.m. before traveling to Kutztown for a 2 p.m. matchup on April 23.
