SHREVEPORT, LA – West Chester University finished fourth nationally at the finals of the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational hosted by Centenary College (La.) inside the Gold Dome Saturday night,
West Chester registered a team score of 190.850. Texas Woman's University won the team title with a score of 196.175 while Southeastern Missouri State was runner-up with a 195.025 and University of Bridgeport was third with a 193.600.
Graduate Student
Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.) placed fifth on the floor exercise to pace the Golden Rams effort. McFarland scored a 9.775 on the floor.
West Chester started the finals on the vault where the Golden Rams scored a 47.475 paced by
Rylee Harada's (Runnemede, N.J.) 9.6 and
Corinne Gruber's (Barto, Pa.) 9.575. Next, West Chester rotated to the uneven bars where
Sarah Eskew (Pittsburgh, Pa.) and
Melina Ringas (Glen Allen, Va.). The Golden Rams scored a 46.8 on the bars. Eskew placed 12th and Ringas 15th on the bars.
Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.) and McFarland led the way on the balance beam. Cascadden posted a 9.8 and McFarland a 9.725. Cascadden's score was good for seventh overall. McFarland turned in another stellar performance on the floor, scoring a 9.775 while
Catherine Keener (Holly Springs, N.C.) scored a 9.75. McFarland was fifth overall and Keener ninth.
West Chester will conclude its 2025 campaign Sunday when three gymnasts compete in the individual finals.
Jordan Coleman (bars), McFarland (floor) and Cascadden (beam) will all conclude their collegiate careers with one more performance. Coleman will compete in defense of her national championship on the bars that she won last April inside Hollinger Field House.
