WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University men's track and field squad was back in action on Saturday in split squad action as the team competed at the Ursinus Track and Field Festival and the William & Mary Colonial Relays over the course of Friday and Saturday.
Brayden Tuefel finished 10
th in the 400 hurdles in 58.45 seconds, while a host of Golden Rams set new personal bests in other events.
Ben Thornton led West Chester in the hammer throw with an 11
th-place finish with a mark of 139 feet 10 inches (42.63m), while Derrick Lukomski Pizzo finished second in the shot put with a mark of 50-9 ½ (15.48m).
Will Rivers finished second in the triple jump with a mark of 45-10 ¾ (13.99m).
Devin Carlson Swank took fourth in the pole vault with a season-best mark of 14-1 ¾ (4.31m), while Collin Niedrowski led the team in the javelin with a mark of 149-5 (45.55m).
West Chester also sent a contingent to William & Mary for the Colonial Relays.
Damian Simpson and
Amarre Mayo tied for sixth in the 100 meters with PSAC Qualifying times of 10.76 seconds, while Mayo took fourth in the 200 in 21.48 seconds, which was also a PSAC qualifying time.
Matt Remishofski finished fourth in the 1500 in 3:57.23, which was a PSAC time as well, while
Josh Miller took 19
th in the 5K invitational in 14:46.47, which was yet another PSAC time.
Luke Pikulski competed in the open 5K and finished 11
th in 15:53.65.
West Chester also took seventh in the sprint medley relay in 3:32.11, while placing third in the distance medley relay in 10:18.47.
