Women's Track and Field Completes Busy Split Squad Weekend

WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field squad was back in action this weekend in split squad action at the Ursinus Track and Field Festival and the William & Mary hosted Colonial Relays.

Jade Williams led West Chester in the 400 hurdles with an eighth-place finish in 1:11.50, while Kamryn Fontaine was 10th in 1:13.69.

Jenelle Moebius was 24th in the 800 with a personal-best time of 2:35.04.

Zhayria Washington and Emma Deyarmin led the way in the discus with fifth and sixth place finishes with marks of 122 feet 7 inches (37.37m) and 118-3 (36.04m), respectively.

Washington, Adrianna Bryant, and Deyarmin also finished third, fifth and seventh in the hammer throw with marks of 137-6 (41.92), 125-6 (38.26) and 123-3 (37.58), respectively. Washington also led West Chester in the shot put with an 11th-place finish in 34-8 ½ (10.58).

Jade Salmon finished sixth in the high jump with a mark of 4-9 (1.45), while Tiffany Kuras and Kayla Lockburner finished fourth and seventh in the javelin with marks of 114-9 (34.98) and 105-00 (32.01), respectively.

Katie Pieslak turned in a pair of second-place finishes in the long jump and triple with marks of 17-11 ¾ (5.48) and 36-4 ¼ (11.08), respectively. Pieslak's mark in the long jump was a new personal best and an early Division II provisional mark.

Kaylie Groff and Emily Donoghen tied for first with leaps of 11-5 (3.48m), while Annika Hummel was fifth with a mark of 10-11 (3.33m). Donoghen's mark also served as a PR. 

William & Mary

Lily Palacio Lewis finished eighth in the 100 with a PSAC Qualifying time of 12.08 seconds before finishing 14th in the 200 in 24.98.

Kristina Tapia also punched her ticket to the PSAC Outdoor Championships in the 1500, finishing 10th in 4:44.79.

West Chester took sixth in 4x100 relay in 47.89 seconds and sixth in the DMR in 12:36.81, while finishing 12th in the sprint medley relay in 4:26.02.

West Chester will be back in action next weekend at home for the Bill Butler Invitational on South Campus beginning on Friday afternoon.
