WEST CHESTER, Pa. - The West Chester University baseball team (35-15) received the news it had been waiting to hear on Sunday night, as the team learned it would once again have the opportunity to host the opening weekend of the NCAA Atlantic Regional Tournament on South Campus, returning to the Tournament as the second seed.
Tickets to the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament will be $10 per day for adults and $5 per day for students and senior citizens. No passes or comp lists will be honored. All ticket sales will be sold onsite and will be
CASH ONLY.
West Chester will host the NCAA Tournament at Serpico Stadium for the third time in four years as the team looks to duplicate its magical run in 2022, which saw the team advance all the way to the National Semifinals in Cary, North Carolina.
The Golden Rams will host PSAC East rival East Stroudsburg (35-14), who enters the Tournament as the third seed, along with Mountain East Conference (MEC) Automatic Qualifier, Fairmont State (27-26), who qualifies as the sixth seed.
PSAC East Regular Season and Tournament Champion, Millersville (42-8), captured the top seed at the end of an exceptional regular season and will host fourth-seeded California (38-13) and fifth-seeded Seton Hill (37-15) in Millersville once again this week.
East Stroudsburg and Fairmont State will get the Tournament underway on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Serpico Stadium, with the loser of that game facing the Golden Rams in the nightcap in an early elimination game. If a team is eliminated on Thursday, a best-of-three series between the Golden Rams and the winner of the Thursday morning game will begin on Friday, with one game on Friday and another game, along with the if-necessary game on Saturday.
The winner of the pod will advance to the Super Regionals to take on the winner of the Millersville pod for the right to represent the Atlantic Region in the Division II National Finals in Cary, North Carolina, beginning in late May.
The Golden Rams' inclusion in the NCAA Division II Tournament marks the eighth appearance in the last nine postseasons competed and 20th time overall. West Chester shows a 49-38 (.563) record in the NCAAs. The Golden Rams won the Division II National Championship in both 2012 and 2017. They last qualified for the NCAAs in 2024 and last hosted the Atlantic Regional in 2023 when the Golden Rams hosted a first-round pod as they were the top seed in the Atlantic Region.
