A total of 20 West Chester Gymnasts Earn WCGA Scholastic All-America

GAINESVILLE, FL – West Chester University's women's gymnastics squad ranked among the Top 25 nationally overall in grade-point average while landing 83 percent of its team roster on the list of academic honors from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) it was announced Monday afternoon.
 
West Chester amassed a cumulative team GPA of 3.7075 while putting 20 gymnasts on the list of WCGA Scholastic All-America. The Golden Rams ranked 23rd overall as a team out of 86 women's gymnastics programs across all three divisions of the NCAA. The Team GPA ranks each school by its team GPA and percentage of the team achieving a 3.50 or higher.
 
Eight of West Chester's 20 Scholastic All-Americans posted a 4.00 GPA, making them each one of 302 gymnasts across the country to achieve the highest GPA in the land – a new record since 2008 when the WCGA began handing out academic achievements.
 
West Chester's list of Scholastic All-Americans included: Caitlin Allen(Forest Hill, Md.), Shannon Carroll (Kingston, N.H.), Caroline Cascadden (Ashburn, Va.), Jordan Coleman (Bowie, Md.), Hannah Elkins (Mukileto, Wash.), Sarah Eskew (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Madalyn Espinosa (Phoenix, Ariz.), Corinne Gruber (Barto, Pa.), Rylee Harada (Runnemede, N.J.), Macarthy Keane (Trumbull, Conn.), Anna Lacey (Bethlehem, Pa.), Catherine Lyden (Bayshore, N.Y.), Natalie Marshall (Bolton, Mass,), Lily McFarland (Baltimore, Md.), Tatum McGuinn (Glen Mills, Pa.), Kristina Rodriguez (Cincinnati, Ohio), Hannah Shelton (Nokesville, Va.), Lydia Stoner (Palmyra, Pa.), Bridget Sullivan (Watertown, Mass.), and Karah Vargo (Fort Myers, Fla).
 
West Chester's 4.00 GPA recipients included: Carroll, Cascadden, Elkins, Gruber, Harada, Keane, McGuinn and Vargo.
