STORYLINE
   West Chester University returns home for its final home meet inside the Sturzebecker Health Science Center on Saturday when Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) rival Cornell University heads to South Campus.The meet will be "Your Cause" meet for the Golden Rams' gymnasts where they choose a cause dear to each and compete for that purpose.
   Saturday's gymnastics meet is the final regular season contest for the Golden Rams who will head to the GEC Championships in Upstate New York next weekend, before hosting the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships (WCGNIC) inside Hollinger Fieldhouse on North Campus. It will be the second time in three years that West Chester University has played host to the national meet.
   West Chester and Cornell met earlier in the season at the Lindsay Ferris Invitational hosted by George Washington University. The Golden Rams topped the Big Red on that occasion. Cornell will host the GEC Championships next weekend. This marks their final regular season competition as well.

WEST CHESTER RECAP FROM LAST SATURDAY
   Senior
Sarah Eskew shined on Senior Day as host West Chester earned a 193.175-192.200 victory over Gymnastics East Conference (GEC) foe Bridgeport in a dual meet inside the Sturzebecker Health Science Center Saturday afternoon.
    West Chester's team score of 193.175 was a season-best for the Golden Rams fueled by season-best scores on both the balance beam and the floor exercise in the last two rotations of the day.
    Eskew opened up her senior meet with a pair of wins on both the vault and the uneven bars. Her score of 9.700 on the vault topped the field while her 9.675 was the winning score on the bars.
    Freshman
Aly Sobczak was fifth on the vault while teammates
Gianna Smith and
Jaslyn McComeskey tied for sixth with a 9.550 each.
    Eskew's 9.675 helped West Chester sweep the top three spots on the bars. Smith was second with a 9.650, and
Melina Ringas tied for third with a 9.625. West Chester's team score of 48.150 on the bars marked the second time this year that the Golden Rams went over 48 on the season.
   West Chester put up a season-high 48.425 on the balance beam powered by a pair of individual season-best efforts out of the first two.
EmmaGrace Kelly posted a 9.750 to tied for second place while
Anna Lacey, and
Tatum McGuinn each scored a 9.700 to tie for fourth. Lacey's score was a season-best for the senior. Classmate
Macarthy Keane posted a season-best score of 9.65 as well.
   Senior
Karah Vargo hit a career-high on the floor exercise with a score of 9.625. Junior
Lydia Stoner led off on the floor with a 9.750 to tie teammate
Catherine Keener for third overall in the final event of the afternoon.
Corinne Gruber followed up with a 9.800. Lacey posted a 9.825 to round out an excellent showing on the floor. Lacey, Gruber, Stoner, Keener swept the top four spots in that event. The squad's 48.650 was the second-best score of the year on the floor.
    Smith competed in the all-around finishing second with a 37.650 combined score.
CHASING HISTORY
   West Chester University head coach
Barbara Cordova entered the 2026 campaign just seven wins shy of her mentor while at West Chester and former legendary head coach Sandy Thielz. Cordova now has 176-160 (.527) record in her 17+ years at her alma mater. Thielz authored an all-time record of 177-88-1 (.670) during her 21-year career at the helm of the Golden Rams from 1974 through 1995. Cordova is two wins away from tying Thielz as the all-time winningest women's gymnastics coach at West Chester.
WEST CHESTER SECURES VIRTIUS TO BROADCAST HOME MEETS
West Chester University signed on with Virtius to broadcast and web stream all five of its home gymnastics meets, including the 2026 WCGNIC Women's national championships in late March for the second time in the last three years.
