Demesy Captures Another All-America Citation in 1650 Freestyle; Diez Honorable Mention

2026 NCAA D2 SWIM & DIVE COMPLETE RESULTS

EVANSVILLE, IND
– Senior distance swimmer, Paul Demesy (Saint Ulrich, France) closed out his incredible college career with an All-America certificate in the 1650-yard freestyle Saturday evening on the final day of competition at the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships inside the Deaconess Aquatic Center. Freshman Marti Rosell Diez (L'Albiol, Spain) placed 13th as well for an honorable mention citation.
 
Demesy swam the mile in 15 minutes, 3.50 seconds to place fourth overall. Diez swam a 15:27.48 to pick up his honorable mention recognition. He was 13th overall. It was Diez's third honor of the week after finishing 12th in the 1000 for an honorable note and eighth in the 500 for an All-America accolade. He also placed 27th in the 200.
 
Demesy concludes a stellar college career. His all-america certificate in the 1650 on Saturday was his seventh in the past four years. He also added four more honorable mention All-America plaudits to his string of accolades. He graduates as the fastest, and most dominant, male distance swimmer in PSAC history.

West Chester finished in 18th place overall in the team standings with 57 points. University of Tampa won its second national championship in the last three years by winning the 400 free relay out of the second heat. Tampa finished with 522.5 points edging out Drury which finished with 509 points.
