MEET RESULTS
PHILADELPHIA – West Chester University finished fourth at the annual Pink Invitational meet held inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center Saturday evening. Rutgers won the invitational with a score of 195.925 while Penn finished second with a 195.325 and Yale was third with a score of 195.100. West Chester posted a 192.350.

The Pink Invitational is a three-day gymnastics competition featuring over 4,000 athletes from local and national USA Gymnastics teams. Gymnasts unite in Philadelphia to compete and raise funds to support breast cancer and ovarian cancer patients nationwide. It also features a collegiate gymnastics meet for the youth gymnasts to enjoy.

West Chester began the evening on the vault where the Golden Rams tied its season high team score of 48.100.
Ava Griffith (Palm Desert, Calif.) set a new career-high with a score of 9.725 while senior
Karah Vargo (Fort Myers, Fla.) led off with a 9.650. Three other Golden Rams hit an identical score of 9.575.

The Purple & Gold moved on to the uneven bars next where Vargo put up career high score of 9.700. Freshman
Gianna Smith (Pittsburgh, Pa.) led the contingent on the bars with a 9.750 while
Madelyn McCullough (Covington Twp., Pa.) posted a 9.575 to lead off the bars lineup.

On the balance beam, West Chester scored a 48.375 which tied for the second-best score of the season.
EmmaGrace Kelly (Tampa, Fla.) equaled her season-high with a score of 9.775 that tied for seventh overall.
Anna Lacey (Bethlehem, Pa.) posted a 9.700 from the anchor position of the lineup.

West Chester finished up on the floor exercise where they scored a 48.450 led by Lacey's 9.775 that tied for ninth overall.
Corinne Gruber (Boyertown, Pa.) posted a 9.725 while
Catherine Keener (Holly Springs, N.C.) scored a 9.700.

Smith competed in the all-around where she finished second out of three competitors with a 38.600 that narrowly missed her high of 38.650 set earlier in the year.

West Chester will return home next Saturday for a dual meet against Cornell University at Sturzebecker Health Science Center on South Campus. Start time is 11 a.m.
