Box Score St. Petersburg, Fla. – West Chester University women's tennis opened its southern trip to the Sunshine State with a 6-1 setback against Eckerd College on Sunday morning at Fred Bullard Courts.
West Chester (3-1) picked up a win from
Rachel Haupt (York, Pa./Central York) at sixth singles, but it was not enough to over Eckerd (5-2).
Haupt downed her opponent 6-1, 6-1 for the Golden Rams' lone point in the match. The third doubles team of
Felicia Manful (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) and
Sohana Thompson (Fairfield, Ohio/The Severn Hills School) were 6-4 winners. However, Eckerd took first and second doubles to earn the doubles point in the match.
West Chester continues its Spring Break trip on Tuesday with a match against Winona State (Minn.) at 11:30 a.m. in Orlando, Fla.
