Stalker Named PSAC East Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its baseball Athlete of the Week awards on Monday afternoon and Austin Stalker (Wycombe, Pa./Council Rock North) was named PSAC East Athlete of the Week.

Stalker was an outstanding 9-for-16 (.563) at the plate for West Chester this week with five extra-base hits, including three home runs and 11 RBI, along with 10 runs scored.  Stalker started his week with a 1-for-3 effort against Goldey-Beacom with a run scored and a pair of RBI. On Friday against Shepherd, Stalker was 2-for-5 with a pair of runs and an RBI, along with a walk, in a doubleheader sweep of the Rams. On Saturday in West Virginia, Stalker was 6-for-10 with eight RBI and six runs scored, including three home runs and a double as the Golden Rams swept their first PSAC East series of the season.

West Chester returns to action tomorrow in the Bill Giles Invitational Championship game at Citizens Bank Park against Jefferson beginning at 1 p.m. The Golden Rams will return to conference play on Friday at Bloomsburg at 1 p.m. to begin a four-game series with the Huskies.
