LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its penultimate set of baseball weekly awards on Monday afternoon, and
Patrick Gozdan (Warminster, Pa./Archbishop Wood) earned East Athlete of the Week honors after a tremendous week at the plate.
Gozdan turned in a sensational week at the plate for West Chester last week as he went 10-for-14 (.714) over the course of five games with three extra-base hits (two doubles, one home run), while driving in seven runs and scoring four more. Gozdan also worked a pair of walks and was hit by two pitches and went a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases.
The sophomore started his week with a 1-for-2 effort against Jefferson in the Bill Giles Invitational Championship game at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday before going 9-for-12 with seven RBI at the plate in the four-game series against Bloomsburg.
West Chester will wrap up its regular season this week against Millersville with a visit to the Marauders on Thursday afternoon before hosting Millersville on Friday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Friday will also be Senior Day for West Chester with Senior Day ceremonies occurring at the conclusion of the doubleheader.
