LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its baseball Athletes of the Week on Monday afternoon, and
Julian Costa (Mantua, N.J./Clearview) earned Pitcher of the Week honors once again after another excellent performance on the mound on Friday afternoon vs Kutztown.
Costa turned in another complete-game shutout on Friday against the Golden Bears to improve to 6-1 on the year as the senior lefthander struck out a career-high 12 and allowed just four hits on 85 pitches in seven innings of work. The veteran also moved into solo second place on the career wins chart with 28 as he continues his pursuit of Jeff Brennan's career win record of 30 after breaking the career strikeout record earlier this spring.
West Chester is back in action this afternoon against Chestnut Hill in a non-league game beginning at 3 p.m. before hosting Shippensburg on Friday to begin a four-game series with the Raiders.
