WEST CHESTER, Pa.- The West Chester University women's track and field team is preparing to return home on Friday for the first day of the two-day Bill Butler Invitational on South Campus at West Chester University. While the majority of the Golden Rams will compete on campus this weekend in the Invitational named in honor of their legendary longtime mentor, who passed away in December 2024 at 92, a small contingent will make the trip North on Saturday for the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg.

Ursinus Springfest
Mya Thompson (Mount Joy, Pa./Hempfield) and Erin Gombert (Lehighton, Pa./Palmerton) finished fourth and sixth in the 100 in 12.56 and 12.59 seconds, while Gombert led West Chester in the 200 with a seventh-place finish in 25.81 seconds. Both of these times were new personal best times for Gombert.
Aliah Contreras (Reading, Pa./Wyomissing) led West Chester with a fifth-place finish in the 400 hurdles in 1:10.07, which also served as a new PR.
Emma Deyarmin (Leesport, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) led West Chester in the discus with a mark of 112 feet 5 inches (34.27 meters), which was a personal best, while
Kendall Thompson (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) won the javelin once again with a mark of 123-11 (37.79 meters).
Deyarmin also finished fourth in the shot put with a mark of 37-2 ½ (11.34m).
Nikolien Bezuidenhout (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley) won the triple jump with a mark of 36-8 ½ (11.19 meters), while finishing fifth in the long jump with a mark of 17-0 ½ (5.19m).
Colonial Relays
In relay action, West Chester finished sixth in the 4x400 relay in 3:54.13, seventh in the 4000 DMR in 12:46.84, first in the 4x200 relay in 1:41.49, and fourth in the 4x100 relay in 47.57 seconds.
Individually, Morgan Pera (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) led a trio of Golden Rams in the 100 hurdles finals, finishing fifth in 14.83 seconds, while
Leah Wasko (Jim Thorpe, Pa./Jim Thorpe) and Cate Hildebrand (Chalfont, Pa./C.B. South) were sixth and eighth in 14.89 and 15.02 seconds, respectively.
Jessalyn Welsh (Enola, Pa./East Pennsboro) led West Chester with a fourth-place finish in the 10K finals in 36:48.82, while
Abbie Williams (Huntley, Il./Huntley) paced West Chester in the 1500 finals with an 11th-place finish in 4:58.44.
Katja Larsen (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) led West Chester in the 200 with a seventh-place finish in 25.09 seconds, while
Genevieve McDonald (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) was 12th in 25.54 seconds. Larsen and McDonald also finished fourth and seventh in the 100 in 12.30 and 12.42 seconds, respectively.
Hildebrand finished 12th in the 400 hurdle finals in 1:06.00, while
Molly Minor (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) was 14th in the 400 finals in 58.63 seconds.
