Baseball Earns Top Seed in Atlantic Regional Tournament

Golden Rams to Host East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg on Opening Weekend

Full Bracket
WEST CHESTER, Pa.-
Following a stellar regular season and a run to the PSAC Championship game, the West Chester University baseball team (39-10) earned the top seed in the Atlantic Region in the NCAA Division II Baseball Tournament when play begins on Thursday morning. As the top seed in the Atlantic Region, West Chester will host the NCAA Tournament at Serpico Stadium for the fourth time in the last five seasons as the Golden Rams continue to look to duplicate their magical run in 2022, which saw the team advance all the way to the National Semifinals in Cary, North Carolina. The Golden Rams will host fourth-seeded East Stroudsburg and fifth-seeded Bloomsburg at Serpico Stadium this weekend.

Tickets to the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament will be $10 per day for adults and $5 per day for students and senior citizens. No passes or comp lists will be honored. All tickets will be sold onsite and will be CASH ONLY. All major credit cards, as well as Google and Apple Pay, will be accepted. A full Tournament central page with additional information and links to coverage for all Regional games is available here.

PSAC Tournament Champion, Millersville, who defeated West Chester in Slippery Rock by a 2-1 final on Saturday in the Conference Championship game, will be the second seed and will host third-seeded Seton Hill along with sixth-seeded Charleston (W.V.), who earned its spot in the Tournament after winning the Mountain East Conference Tournament Championship earlier on Sunday.

East Stroudsburg and Bloomsburg will get the Tournament underway on Thursday at Serpico Stadium, with the loser of that game facing the Golden Rams in the second game of the day in an early elimination game. If a team is eliminated on Thursday, a best-of-three series between the Golden Rams and the winner of the Thursday morning game will begin on Friday, with one game on Friday and another, along with the if-necessary game, on Saturday.

The winner of the pod will advance to Super Regionals next weekend to take on the winner of the Millersville pod for the right to host the Atlantic Region in the Division II National Finals in Cary, North Carolina, later this month.

The Golden Rams' inclusion in the Division II Tournaments marks the team's ninth appearance in the last 10 postseasons and the 21st time overall. West Chester shows a 49-40 (.551) record in the NCAA Tournament after dropping a pair of games to Fairmont State and East Stroudsburg last May. The Golden Rams, who hoisted the Division II National Championship trophy in 2012 and 2017, enter the 2026 Tournament in search of their first Tournament victory since 2023 after going 0-2 at home in both the 2024 and 2025 Regional Tournaments.

A full NCAA Tournament preview will be available on wcupagoldenrams.com later this week.
