West Chester University Seeks Full-Time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach

The Assistant Coach is responsible for supporting all duties associated with successful coaching at the college level. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills to be a positive role model and representative of the university.  This position requires the ability to travel extensively on both weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Head Coach in fulfilling all responsibilities associated with successful coaching at the college level
  • Identify and recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes 
  • Schedule and organize practice sessions
  • Coach techniques and tactics in practice sessions
  • Coach on game day
  • Monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete well-being
  • Assist with the management of equipment, team travel, and budget
  • Assist with administrative duties
  • Support alumni relations and fundraising
  • Organize and administer camps and clinics
  • Breakdown video for team and individual sessions
  • Follow and demonstrate support for all policies and regulations of West Chester University, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association
  • Travel for recruiting and competition
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Collegiate or professional soccer playing experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous collegiate, high school, or club-level soccer coaching experience
  • Knowledge of and conformity to NCAA rules
  • Recruiting experience

Special Instructions

Salary and benefits are dictated by the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties (APSCUF) Non-Faculty Coaches Collective Bargaining Agreement.
