LOUISVILLE, KY – Senior Utility/Pitcher,
Danielle Ciliberto (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon), was named second team All-Atlantic Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) it was announced Friday morning.
For Ciliberto, it is her second time being recognized by the NFCA. She was also second team all-region in 2023 following her sophomore campaign. She was the lone Golden Ram named to either all-region squad.
Ciliberto also earned first team All-PSAC East at the Utility/Pitcher spot earlier this month. The senior has turned in another excellent season inside the circle so far, going 15-11 with a 3.15 ERA and 110 strikeouts in 173 innings, including nine complete games, two shutouts and five saves. At the plate, Ciliberto has hit .325 with a career-high 54 hits, 33 RBI and 15 runs scored. She has seven doubles and a pair of home runs, including a crucial double in the Golden Rams' regular-season finale over Bloomsburg – a win that helped the squad clinch a postseason berth in the PSAC Tournament.
The senior, who entered the season as the school's career saves leader, extended her lead atop that chart with five this spring. She also became just the second Golden Rams' pitcher in school history to record 400 strikeouts in a career, joining legendary left-hander, Amanda Houck, with 456 career K's, which stands as the most in school history by a right-hander. Ciliberto also moved into second all-time in career wins (70) and is fourth all-time in career innings pitched – just 30 away from a tie with Dana Barnabei for third. Her 70 wins are also the most by a right-handed pitcher in school history.
Ciliberto continues to lead her squad in the NCAA Division II Softball Tournament. The senior right-hander and the Golden Rams face Fairmont State University in an elimination game Friday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. at Creekview Park in Stroudsburg, Pa.
