Men's Cross Country Picked to Finish Third in PSAC Preseason Poll

LOCK HAVEN, Pa.- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its men's cross country preseason coaches' poll on Wednesday afternoon. Following an outstanding 2025 season, which included a fourth-place finish at the PSAC Championships at Edinboro, the Golden Rams' highest team finish at the Championships since 1971, West Chester was picked to finish third in the preseason coaches' poll as announced the league office on Wednesday afternoon.

West Chester grabbed a pair of top-10 finishes at the 2025 Championships as Josh Miller (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville), who later qualified for the National Championships in Wisconsin took fifth in 24 minutes and 56 seconds, while Jason Vogt finished his collegiate cross country career with a 10th-place finish in 25:23.7. Matt Remishofski (Wall, N.J./Wall) and Nicholas Forman (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy) turned in top-30 finishes of their own, finishing 23rd and 26th in 25:54 and 26:09.90 to grab Second Team All-Conference honors along with Miller and Vogt's First Team All-League certificates. These performances helped West Chester finish just six points behind Kutztown for third and 22 behind East Stroudsburg for second.

Shippensburg, who won the team title once again last fall with an impressive finish across its lineup, is the preseason favorite once again with 13 first-place votes, followed by East Stroudsburg with two votes, West Chester, Kutztown, and Slippery Rock to round out the top five. Edinboro, Lock Haven, Gannon, IUP, and Bloomsburg make up the remainder of the top-10.

West Chester will be back in action on Friday, September 4 in Coatesville for the WCU Season Opener for one of three meets hosted by the Golden Rams this fall. West Chester will also visit Dickinson for the Long-Short Invitational on September 12, Lehigh for the Paul Short on October 2, Bloomsburg for the Bloomsburg Invitational on October 17, and Lock Haven for the Go-Fast River Run on October 24. West Chester will head back to Bloomsburg on November 7 for the PSAC Championships ahead of the Atlantic Regional Championships in North Carolina on November 21.
