WEST CHESTER, Pa.- After a critical victory over Bloomsburg in West Chester on Saturday, West Chester (2-2-0, 2-1-0) will look to improve to 2-0-0 at home on Wednesday afternoon when East Stroudsburg (4-3-2, 1-0-1) makes its annual visit to Rockwell Field to renew its rivalry with the Golden Rams. Kickoff on Rockwell Field is set for 3 p.m.

- Lukas Bentsen (Erie, Pa./McDowell) scored the eventual game-winner in the 31st minute, and Jaden Howard (Townsend, Del./Middletown) made 10 saves to make this goal hold up as the winner as the West Chester University men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Bloomsburg in its home opener on Saturday afternoon.
- With his goal on Saturday, Bentsen moves into first place on the scoring chart as he is tied with Peter Tichy (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) for the team lead in goals with three each and also has an assist for seven points on the season. Howard, the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week, improved to 2-1-1 on the year on Saturday with his second shutout victory of the campaign, while also lowering his goals-against average from 1.14 to 0.89 with his 10-save performance. The senior has made 26 saves this season and has a .870 save percentage in 405 minutes of action.
- East Stroudsburg enters play on Wednesday following a 1-0 road win over Millersville on Saturday after playing to a 1-1 draw against Shepherd and a 3-3 draw with Lock Haven in each of its previous two games. At Millersville on Saturday afternoon, Steven Arias scored his fifth goal of the year just over five minutes into the match, and Gabin Meneyrol made five saves to silence the Millersville offense.
- Arias leads the team in scoring with five goals for 10 points, while Jeter Cardona has three goals and three assists for nine points on the year. Ryan Kiernan has two goals and an assist for five points in eight games without a start. Meneyrol is 2-1-1 with a pair of shutouts and a 2.00 goals-against average in 315 minutes, while Phil Sykes is 1-2-1 with a 1.45 goals-against average and a shutout of his own in 495 minutes of action.
- Following a split in the season series last year with both sides emerging with road wins, East Stroudsburg maintains a 48-43-19 lead over West Chester in the all-time series. West Chester earned its first road win over ESU since 2019 last fall but fell in the series finale by 1-0 as the Golden Rams searched for their first sweep of the Warriors since 2019.
