Five Things to Know:
- West Chester fell to 0-2 on the young season last weekend in New Jersey as the Golden Rams took on Princeton and fell to the Tigers by a 91-0 final.
- Saturday's match is the Golden Rams' second straight road trip and is the longest road trip left on the regular-season slate for West Chester, as the remaining road dates will see West Chester visit La Salle on October 24 at 11 a.m. and Frostburg State on October 31 at 1 p.m.
- Saturday is a rematch of a 2025 NIRA Semifinal clash between the Golden Rams and Polar Bears as West Chester made its first visit to Bowdoin since a 2018 trek to Maine for the first meeting between the two sides. West Chester avenged a 37-27 regular-season loss to Bowdoin in New York in this November clash as the Golden Rams used a late-match surge to earn a 19-5 victory and punch their ticket back to the Championship match for the first time since 2021.
- West Chester is 3-1 against Bowdoin since September 2018, with the lone loss during that span being a 37-27 setback in a neutral-site match in New York last October.
- Bowdoin enters play on Saturday 0-1 on the year after starting the season with a 32-18 loss to Navy at AIC last Saturday afternoon. Bowdoin jumped out to a 6-0 lead earlier after a pair of Ellie Carter kicks and held a 12-6 lead at the midway point but was outscored 26-6 the rest of the way as the Midshipmen departed Massachusetts with a 32-18 victory.
