West Chester Welcomes No. 14 IUP For Home Opener

WEST CHESTER, PA – West Chester University opened its 2026 campaign last weekend on the road at nearby Lincoln University (Pa.) with a 21-13 win. This weekend, the Golden Rams lift the lid on its home slate at Tomlinson-Fillippo Field at John A. Farrell Stadium for a 6 p.m. showdown with No. 14 Indiana University of Pa. (IUP). The Crimson Hawks turned some heads last Saturday with a road win over then-No.12 Ashland University, 34-24.
 
Tickets to the home opener Saturday night are on sale and can be purchased online at wcupatix.com. Single-game tickets are all General Admission and costs $10. Seniors and students (K-12) are $5. WCU students are free with a valid ID while children under 5 are also admitted free. Season-ticket sales are also on sale for both general admission seating and Gold Box seating. General Admission season tickets are $50, and a Gold Box Season Ticket Package is $125 for all five home games.

Reserved Parking: The parking lots surrounding Sturzebecker Health Science Center (O Lot and N Lot) are reserved parking for Touchdown Terrace members only. The WCU Shuttle Bus is the preferred option for transportation to and from Farrell Stadium. Parking lots south of Farrell Stadium open four hours prior to kickoff, and all other lots open 2 ½ hours prior.
 
 
KILLINGER FOOTBALL FOUNDATION HALL OF FAME NIGHT
Saturday's season opener will also serve as the Killinger Football Foundation Hall of Fame Night as five former Golden Rams will be introduced to the crowd as the newest members of the school's hall of fame. Pat Ellis ('89), Steve Gundy ('81), Mike Labor ('15), William Lowe ('00) and Kevin O'Neill ('07) will be honored at halftime in a brief ceremony. The class represents four decades of West Chester football excellence.
 
 
REMEMBERING MICHAEL HORROCKS
West Chester University and the athletic department will have a moment of silence before the game on this, the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks on 9/11, to remember former West Chester University quarterback, and co-pilot of the second plane that crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City, Michael Horrocks. A tribute video will be played after the game to honor Michael Horrocks just before the post-game fireworks.
 
 
RECAPPING LAST WEEK
Mikhail Johnson rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown as visiting West Chester built a 21-point halftime lead before holding off Lincoln, 21-13, Saturday evening at Coleman Field.
 
The Golden Rams dominated the first half, scoring three touchdowns on the ground while limiting Lincoln to just 82 yards of total offense before the break. West Chester finished the night with 180 net rushing yards. With the win, WCU head coach Duke Greco picked up his 100th career victory.
 
Johnson provided the game's biggest offensive play for the Golden Rams, breaking loose for a 67-yard run that set up the team's first score. He capped the scoring drive with an 8-yard TD run from eight yards out with just nine seconds remaining in the first quarter.
 
Starting QB, Jack Pellicciotti, extended West Chester's lead in the second quarter with a seven-yard TD run with 9:04 remaining in the first half that doubled the visitor's lead to 14-0.
 
Pellicciotti finished the night 9 of 15 for 67 yards through the air.
 
 
IUP LAST WEEK
No. 22 IUP opened the 2026 season with a statement road victory Thursday night, taking down No. 12 Ashland, 34-24, at Jack Miller Stadium.
 
After an Ashland field goal on its opening possession and a stalled IUP drive, the Crimson Hawks found their first touchdown of the season on defense. Long snapper Everett Olson downed a Gavin Mentzer punt at the 1-yard line before Mysir Mayo recovered a fumble in the end zone to give IUP its first lead.
 
The Crimson Hawks' defense set the tone early, then quarterback Mason Maggs and running back Leon Parson took over offensively.
 
Maggs completed 12 of 16 passes for 165 yards in the opening half, highlighted by a 40-yard screen pass to Parson that went for a touchdown. Parson was all over the field in the first half, scoring once through the air and once on the ground while also contributing in the return game.
 
IUP took a 21-10 advantage into halftime and maintained the lead throughout the second half.
