Biography

Graduate student, who pitched for three years at Division I Richmond … former Division I All-America selection … former team captain for the Spiders … quite a pickup for the Golden Rams’ staff … should work his way into a weekend starter … could turn out to be one of the most dominant pitchers in the conference … tremendous upside to the seasoned veteran … very experienced … will not be rattled in tough situations … should be a great asset for a pitching staff that is already top-notch.

2010 (Richmond): Appeared in six games and made five starts … went 4-0 with a 4.08 ERA … pitched 28.2 innings and yielded 29 hits … struck out 24 batters and walked 10 … served as team captain … was one of the Spiders’ weekend conference starters entering the season.

2009 (Richmond): Led the Spiders in innings pitched for the second-straight season (66.0) and started in 12 of his 13 appearances ... allowed just seven runs over a four-game mid-season stretch of A-10 play (22.2 innings) – two of the no-decisions were a 5-4 win over Duquesne and a 6-5 loss to St. Bonaventure ... struck out a season-high nine in five innings of work at Saint Louis ... went the distance – his third career nine-inning complete game -- with seven Ks as Richmond beat La Salle, 9-3 ... picked up his other win over Iona ... struck out the side in one inning of relief work at nationally-ranked East Carolina.

2008 (Richmond): Was Richmond’s workhorse in 2008 by pitching a team-high 61.0 innings in 10 starts ... finished 5-2 with a team-leading 4.72 ERA ... was 5-2 with a 3.62 ERA in conference play ... named the A-10 Pitcher of the Week after blanking Dayton in a complete-game, 5-0 shutout on April 25 ... fanned four, with no walks and just eight hits in nine innings versus the Flyers ... pitched six shutout innings (five hits, four Ks) versus Temple to get a win on April 11 ... after getting roughed up versus Xavier on April 5, allowed just four earned runs over his next four starts (29.1 innings) and went 3-0 in that stretch (wins over Temple, Dayton and Saint Louis)... Blanked George Washington over 6.1 innings to get the win in the start before Xavier ... struck out a season-high seven in seven innings versus Rhode Island ... allowed 10 runs in his first two starts of the season and was on the shelf for a month with an injury ... walked just 14 in 61.0 innings.

2007 (Richmond): Became the first Spider to be named the Atlantic 10 rookie of the year ... also earned a spot on the A-10 all-rookie team ... named a freshman All-American by both Louisville Slugger and Ping ... earned a pair of A-10 rookie of the week awards ... toed the rubber 15 times, making 14 starts and was 6-5 with a team-leading 3.30 ERA ... was even better against the A-10 with a 5-2 record and 3.04 ERA ...  His 3.30 ERA was ranked eighth overall in the A-10 and sixth among starters ... boasted a 12-inning scoreless streak toward the end of the season coming in wins over Massachusetts and Saint Joseph’s ... fanned a career-best 10 in seven shutout innings to beat George Washington ... against SJU, he went seven more shutout innings with four hits and four K’s to pick up the victory ... his first career complete game came at Massachusetts, where he surrendered just one earned run in a 3-1 Richmond triumph ... the UMass win was his only appearance of the season without at least one strikeout.
