Julia Vreeswyk (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) had a solid week this past week as she recorded 48 kills and nine blocks on the week to help West Chester go 2-1 on the week. Vreeswyk began her week on Tuesday against Millersville by tying her career and season-high for kills with 17 while also registering three digs and four blocks in the five-set victory. On Friday night against Shippensburg, Vreeswyk saw limited action recording six kills, three blocks and a pair of digs in West Chester’s 3-0 loss to the Raiders. Vreeswyk saved her best performance of the week for Saturday afternoon at Pitt-Johnstown as she recorded 25 kills along with four digs and a pair of blocks to help West Chester come away with a crucial five-set victory over its hosts. This 25 kill performance sets a new career-high for Vreeswyk and it also the most kills a Golden Rams has accumulated since the 2014 season. This total also gives Vreeswyk the fourth most kills of any player in the PSAC in 2018 while her 66 attacks against UPJ also ranks her fourth in the conference through 20 matches. Vreeswyk currently leads the team in kills with 206 and she also sits fourth on the team in hitting percentage hitting at a .231 clip.
