No. 3 West Chester Sinks Shippensburg, 23-6

WEST CHESTER, Pa. West Chesters third-ranked womens lacrosse squad rattled off 11 unanswered goals to break an early 1-1 tie and easily cruise to a 23-6 victory over Shippensburg in the teams home opener of the 2007 slate.

Chrissy Kane scored four goals and finished with five points, while Jackie Baker scored three times and assisted on three others to post a game-high six points. Nicole Haines and Amelia Reed each finished with a hat trick as well. Reeds trick came in the final 5:34 of play. She finished with four points, all in the second half.

Stephanie Kienle, Katy Crouse and Stephanie Bell each scored twice in the win.

West Chester (4-0, 3-0 PSAC) dominated from the outset, piling on 14 goals by halftime. The Golden Rams scored 5:26 into the contest on a tally by Gina DiDomenicis off a free position. Shippensburg (1-2, 1-2) tied the game two minutes later on a goal by Kristin Crutchfield, but the hosts poured it on with three goals in a 1:58 span.

Crutchfield finished with four of Shippensburgs six goals on the afternoon.

Mary Beth Green (3-0) started the game in goal for West Chester and played the first half. She allowed three goals and made two saves. Ally Livelsberger played the final 30 minutes, allowing three goals and making two saves as well.
