WEST CHESTER, Pa.
Jackie Baker scored five goals, and No. 2 West Chester forced Indiana, Pa., into committing 33 turnovers as the host Golden Rams clinched its fourth consecutive PSAC title with a 22-7 win over visiting IUP Monday afternoon at South Campus Turf Field.
The Rams have now won 47 of their last 48 conference games.
West Chester (14-1, 12-0 PSAC) forced 26 turnovers in the first half and scored 17 goals, its most in a half except for the 18 the Golden Rams posted on Slippery Rock, en route to the victory. Twelve different West Chester players scored goals in the win.
Baker finished with six points.
Stephanie Kienle registered a hat trick and four points, while
Courtney Whiting scored twice and picked up an assist and
Gabrielle Stitz finished with three points (1G, 2A).
Gina DiDomenicis controlled a game-high four draws, and
Kimberlee Hachen scooped up four ground balls in the first half before West Chester emptied its bench.
Mary Beth Green started and played the first half, allowing one goal and making four saves to record her 12th win of the season. Freshman
Ally Livelsberger played the second half and allowed six goals while registering three saves.
Indianas Kylie Miller scored three goals to lead the visitors effort. Brittany Pikur also scored twice.
West Chester travels to East Stroudsburg on Thursday for a 4 p.m. contest, before returning home on Saturday for Senior Day against Slippery Rock at 1 p.m.
