INDIANA, Pa. On perhaps the coldest day of the spring, amidst snow flurries, No. 2 West Chester downed Indiana Univeristy of Pennsylvania, 24-6, in womens lacrosse action Wednesday.
Stephanie Kienle and
Jackie Baker each scored six goals for the visiting Golden Rams (8-0, 6-0 PSAC) and
Gina DiDomenicis netted four tallies to lead the offensive barrage. It marked the seventh time in the teams first eight matches of the season that West Chester eclipsed the 20-goal mark.
Kienle finished with 11 points, one shy of her career best set against Bloomsburg last Saturday, while Baker tied her season high for points with eight. DiDomenicis four goals established a new career best for the midfielder.
West Chester wasted no time in dispatching the hosts, jumping on IUP for 15 goals in the first half to take a 15-3 advantage into the break.
Mary Beth Green (6-0) started the game and picked up her sixth win of the year, stopping two shots in the first 30 minutes of play.
Ally Livelsberger relieved Green in the second half and recorded three saves.
Stephanie Bell registered three goals for the Golden Rams in a supporting role.
Chrissy Kane,
Lauren Tatios and
Courtney Whiting also scored for the visitors.
West Chester returns home on Saturday, April 7 for a 1 p.m. showdown with East Stroudsburg. That match begins a four-game homestand that will see the Golden Rams play seven of their last nine games at home.
