EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette scored once in each half to down visiting West Chester, 2-0, on a frigid Wednesday evening in a non-league field hockey match.
West Chester (6-11) dropped its second straight game while Lafayette improved to 11-6 overall.
The Golden Rams had a goal disallowed on a penalty corner that could have brought the visitors within one with 12 minutes remaining. But, the two-goal lead stood and Lafayette held on for the win.
Joelle Zarefoss made two saves in the cage for West Chester.
Lindsay Majno scored in the 16th minute to give the Leopards a 1-0 lead. Kelly Hilovsky doubled the advantage in the second half in the 67th minute.
West Chester returns home on Saturday for Senior Day in its final game of the season against Atlantic 10 foe LaSalle.
