PHILADELPHIA, Pa.
– Holy Family put three players in double figures en route to a 60-49 non-league women’s basketball victory over visiting West Chester Wednesday evening.

Holy Family (8-4) jumped out in front 30-6 midway through the first half and withstood a valiant comeback attempt by West Chester (6-2) over the last 20 minutes to capture its third win in its last four outings.

The Golden Rams cut the deficit to seven twice in the second half, but could not get any closer. The Tigers grabbed 20 offensive rebounds in the victory, which played a large part in their game-opening run.

Janelle Garber led West Chester with 11 points. Dana Weems scored nine points, grabbed eight rebounds, registered five steals and five assists for the Golden Rams.

Christine McCollum grabbed 13 rebounds. Catherine Carr scored 16 points and Melissa Brooks scored 13 for the Tigers.
