FORT MONMOUTH, N.J. - Kristen Foore scored her first career goal off an assist from Brittany Cislak five minutes into the first overtime period to give visiting West Chester a 1-0 victory over host Monmouth in a non-league field hockey match Sunday afternoon.
Cislak, who potted the OT game-winner on Wednesday at Lehigh, was in on her second overtime winner when she assisted on Foore's goal at 75:27. The win marked the second straight game in which West Chester (2-1) won a road game in overtime.
West Chester intercepted a pass near midfield and carried the ball to the top of the circle to set up the game-winner. Cislak, doubled at the circle, dumped the ball off to Foore on the right side, who smashed a shot past Monmouth's goalkeeper for the winner.
The Golden Rams held the Hawks (0-4) without a shot on goal as Joelle Zarefoss was not called upon to make a save in the contest. West Chester outshot Monmouth 18-6 and held a decided advantage in penalty corners, 17-4.
West Chester must prepare for national power North Carolina this weekend as the Rams host the third annual Vonnie Gros Classic at South Campus Turf Field on Saturday and Sunday.
