Women’s Lacrosse Runs Past East Stroudsburg, 23-10

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Jackie Baker scored five goals and posted seven points, and Claire Grimwood registered seven points to lead No. 1 West Chester to a 23-10 victory over East Stroudsburg in a PSAC East women’s lacrosse match on a cold and windy Monday afternoon.

West Chester (5-0, 3-0 PSAC East) solidified its hold on the top spot in the conference while increasing its win streak to 25 straight dating back to last year. The Golden Rams held a 15-6 advantage at halftime.

Baker led all goal scorers with her five tallies. Grimwood scored three times and assisted on four others while Nicole Haines scored four times and posted one assist. Julia Walsh scored two goals and picked up three assists. Chrissy Stokes, Courtney Whiting, Gina DiDomenicis and Katy Crouse each recorded a pair of goals as well for the Golden Rams. Gabrielle Stitz scored the other marker. Crouse added a pair of assists to her two goals.

Mary Beth Green (5-0) made three saves in 50 minutes of action, allowing nine goals. Brittany Barnes played the final 10 minutes in the cage and recorded two saves against one goal allowed.

Michelle Mangiaruga scored four goals and registered six points for East Stroudsburg. Kristen Mayberry started in goal and played the first half, making five saves and allowing 15 goals. Alexis Landau played the second half and allowed eight goals and made three saves.

West Chester continues its torrid pace of four games in seven days with another league tilt at Millersville on Thursday.
